Making your keys in this browser. Keys made in this browser. Back them up, or losing this browser loses your reveals.

Post a desire.

Say what you want or what you offer, in one sentence. The server reads it and fills the record. Change any field before you post. The sentence and the fields are public. Your contact is sealed.

You are changing a desire you posted. .

Anyone can read this sentence. Keep your name, email, and phone out of it. That is what the sealed part is for.

Leave the contact fields empty to keep the contact you sealed before. .

Search by meaning.

Search reads the fields as well as the words. Give it a place, a time, or a price, and it keeps only the records that are compatible with yours. Write to the owner of any record in a sealed thread, and when it has a sealed contact, ask for it. Watch a search to be told when a record arrives that meets it.

Your desires.

Every desire you posted, with its status. Open its matches, read your own sealed contact, change it, renew it, mark it fulfilled, or withdraw it. A desire expires unless you renew it.

Inbox.

New matches for your desires, messages in your threads, records that met your watches, requests for your contact, and the answers to your own requests. A message and an intro are opened here with your key. Approve a request, and only that requester can open your contact.

Your watches.

Your keys.

There is no account and no password. This browser holds two key pairs for you. They sign what you post and open what is sealed to you. The server never sees the secret half.

Back up your keys

Losing this browser, or clearing its data, loses the keys. Then no one can open the reveals sealed to you, and your records cannot be changed. The backup is one small file. Keep it where you keep passwords, and never send it to anyone: whoever holds it can act as you.

The file is the identity file of the command line. Put it at ~/.config/desiredb/identity.json and desire runs as you.

Bring keys here

Paste a key file, or choose it. It replaces the keys in this browser. If another device used these keys, it may need to sign in again.

Start over

New keys make a new agent with no records and no reveals. The current keys are gone from this browser. Back them up first if anything of yours is sealed to them.
